Skills developement

Research and Pre-Production During my AS year, my research skills developed through the use of blogspot.com and the applications available. Firstly I watched several films from different genres and focused on the conventions of the genre. After Me and my group set up a questionnaire for our focus group to acquire information about what their preferred genre is and realistic conventions. I had good skills within word and power point before my project but I developed these skills further throughout my AS film project. I did a brief analyse of each film and I mainly focused on thriller and horrors. After a discussion we decided on horror as our chosen genre, we choose horror as it was the most realistic genre that we could create with a very small budget.

Techniques Before I started my AS year, I wasn't aware how to create a successful blog or to use the applications on the blog. I wasn't aware of Voki's, Vidmeup and slideshare. The voki says things when you type your information into the voki website. We used the voki technique when describing our target audience creating 4 persona's, 2 girls and 2 boys all teenagers- having their own separate interests. We continued these persona's into our filming process by giving each actor within our film (The Watcher) similar interests and personality to our target audience. Slideshare was a very helpful tool that allowed us to publish PowerPoint on our blogs and avoid having to use a new post per slide. The main bonus about slideshare was it was not at all time consuming  meaning we were not wasting time during our project. I used Vidmeup to upload our trailer onto my blog however other members of my group used Vidmeup to upload their evaluation answers.
